10 Over Surf Shop's Spring Gear Guide 2026

It's looking like it out there – spring is such a magical time to be a surfer anywhere in the world. In the northern hemisphere, swells are still ploughing into coastlines before the great summer shut down. And in the southern hemi, the swell season has just launched.

For us, the water's starting to warm up in Cornwall – meaning it's finally time to ditch the booties and hood and maybe pluck out your 4mm wetsuit. Which may just be the most versatile wetsuit in your quiver – an unsung hero, if you like.

When Vissla launched in 2013 by former president of Billabong Paul Naude, the brand did a lot to turn a few heads. Their creator and innovator drive snapped up more than just surfers under the Vissla blanket, taking a nod towards photographers and designers who make the surf scene sing. Sissterevolution Women's Wetsuit 4/3mm 7 Seas Chest Zip

The women's brand to Vissla's men's – Sisstrevolution was launched five years after Vissla's initial outing, hitting the market towards the end of 2018. The aim was to offer high-quality wetsuits, designed for the next generation of upcoming surfers and it worked. 

Much like the Vissla equivalent, their 7 Seas version is again your daily driver, a wetsuit for the dedicated surfer. The wetsuits are developed in collaboration with a "band of Sisstrs", a team of female surfers, including brand ambassadors like Lakey Peterson, Sawyer Lindblad and Samantha Sibley, who help test and refine the products. Rainbow Fins – Nomad 9.5” Traveller Longboard Fin

10 Over Surf Shop has (probably) the largest collection of longboard fins out of any surf shop in the UK. A bold claim! And one we cannot quantify but if you visited the shop in Lanteague before our big move (more on this soon) then the fin wall would be something you'd have noticed.

Skindog Surfboards – 9'6” Cherrypicker Longboard

Ben Skinner's traditional, single-fin log. Of all the board we could pick out, this one's a bit unique. The tail design has been tweaked out, which helps create lift on the nose and responsive drive off the tail. 

It's one of Skindog's more unique designs crafted in response to shifts in both competitive and recreational longboarding landscapes with the emphasis on blending flow, nose riding, and tight turns. Back in 2021, Union of Surf officially launched as a UK-based sunglasses company, providing eco-friendly eyewear for the surf industry. In fact, their cases are made from recycled wetsuits to keep the credentials in-line and the frames are constructed out of wood. Slowtide rose to prominence back in 2015, after launching and spear-heading campaigns with the likes of Sage Erickson, Kassia Meador and Curren Caples. Since then, the brand has gone on to partner with artists, photographers and designers all across the world.
